Welcome to the Abingdon Silver Group
We are a small friendly group for adults and we meet every week during term time at John Mason School in Abingdon to work in silver, copper and gold. Creating jewellery and other pieces from sheet and wire is very satisfying and not as expensive as you might expect.
Some of our members have been developing their skills over a number of years and now exhibit and sell their jewellery via the internet and at local craft fairs. Others are newcomers to silversmithing. Our club started over 30 years ago.
Normally, we welcome new members of all abilities who can take advantage of our well equipped workshop and the benefits of working together with a variety of people who share a passion for silversmithing. Unfortunately, due to social distancing for Coronavirus, we have lost bench space and only have capacity for our existing members just now. However, please contact us and we will put your name on our waiting list.
We offer a short beginners course allowing people to learn the basics that they can then build on with support from the more experienced members of the group.
