Welcome to the Abingdon Silver Group

We are a small friendly group who meet every week during term time, at John Mason School, in Abingdon to work in silver, copper and gold. Creating jewellery and other pieces from sheet and wire is very satisfying and not as expensive as you might expect.

Some of our members have been developing their skills over a number of years and now exhibit and sell their jewellery via the internet and at local craft fairs.  Others are newcomers to silversmithing.

We welcome new members of all abilities who can take advantage of our well equipped workshop and the benefits of working together with a variety of people who share a passion for silversmithing. We are basically an adult club, but can accomodate one or two 16-18 year olds, e.g. for their DoE award, but a parent or guardian must be present at all times.

We offer a short beginners course allowing people to learn the basics that they can then build on with support from the more experienced members of the group.
